Osinbajo finally meets Buhari in London, refuses to speak after 1 hour meeting

Nigeria’s Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has returned to Nigeria after a one-hour meeting with Muhammadu Buhari late Tuesday July 11.

His return to Nigeria was confirmed by Laolu Akande, Osinbajo’s media aide, who tweeted that Osinbajo would be presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Aso Rock by 11 am on Wednesday, July 12.

Akande said: “AgP Osinbajo now back in Abuja from London & will be presiding over FEC this morning starting @ 11am at the Council Chambers in Aso Rock.”

Professor Yemi Osinbajo finally met with ailing President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday July 11 in London and spent just one hour with the latter Buhari in London.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) is reporting that Osinbajo, the acting president, swiftly left after the meeting to return to Nigeria.

The report said Osinbajo arrived in the night at the Abuja House, where Mr Buhari has been living since he arrived 8 May, from Nigeria for medical vacation.

 Mr Osinbajo spent one hour and left without making any comment on his meeting with Mr Buhari.

“Osinbajo meeting with President Buhari in London today, and returning to Abuja immediately afterwards,” the vice president’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, said in a Twitter message posted earlier on Tuesday.

 No details were given. Buhari, 74, left Nigeria the night of 7 May after welcoming a group of 82 Chibok schoolgirls released by the militant group Boko Haram.

It was President Buhari’s second medical visit to Britain this year. The first began in January and lasted nearly two months.
