The Chelsea legend expects Manchester United to win the Premier League title this season.
Manchester United will win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea, Pat Nevin has claimed.
The Red Devils have made an impressive start to the Premier League season following three successive victories before last weekend’s 2-2 stalemate at Stoke City.
Manchester City have managed to keep pace with their title rivals and the Citizens were impressive 5-0 winners against title rivals Liverpool in their last outing.
Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea endured a tough start to the campaign following a 3-2 loss to Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
But the Blues are a mere point behind Manchester United and Manchester City following successive wins against Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Leicester City heading into the fifth weekend of the Premier League.
However, Nevin believes the Premier League table could end up looking like it does heading into its fifth weekend at the end of the 2017-18 season.
“If you look at that league table with Man United top, Man City in second and Chelsea in third would it be a surprise to see the same table in eight months?” Nevin told Newstalk before this weekend’s round of fixtures.
Chelsea signed Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, AS Roma defender Antonio Rudder, Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, Leicester City star Danny Drinkwater and Torino full-back Davide Zappacosta this summer.
Manchester United brought in Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer transfer window.
