Manchester United fans assess Lukaku’s performance against Watford

Romelu Lukaku made an instant impact at Manchester United when he joined from Everton in the summer.

The Belgian international scored 10 goals in his first nine games in all competitions for the Red Devils.

At the moment, though, the 24-year-old has had a dry spell, finding the back of the net just once in his last 11 outings.

Lukaku has played the full 90 minutes in 10 of those fixtures, and the most that he has contributed – aside from the one goal – is three assists.

While his overall statistics are very positive for a new signing, some fans have been frustrated by the striker’s performances.

On a handful of occasions, manager Jose Mourinho has publicly defended Lukaku to the fans and media.

On Tuesday night, the forward, who recently escaped a retrospective three-match ban for violent conduct against Brighton, led the line at Vicarage Road.

United ended up netting four against Watford in a 4-2 triumph, but Lukaku was missing from the scoreline, with Ashley Young, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard getting the glory.

After the match, United fans tweeted their assessment of their striker.
