JAMB allegedly deducts 100 marks from guy who was caught cheating during examination (photo)

For many years now, a lot if students have been warned about cheating in examination halls but to read well enough so they can all come out in flying colors. Just recently, the picture of how the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) deducted some marks from a candidate's result, has been making rounds on social media leaving people wondering if they can actually do that or it’s just a lie. The young man was identified as Leke, was sent a text message from JAMB stating that CCTV camera caught him cheating in an examination hall.

The first message from JAMB came in on Thursday, April 6, stating that: “Kindly check your JAMB profile email address to get to know your Centre and time for the Mock test scheduled to hold on Saturday 8th April, 2017.” However the second text message came in on Wednesday, May 17, stating that: “Dear Candidate CCTV Camera Indicate That You Were Involved In Malpractice JAMB Deducted 100 marks from your score thank you.


It could be recalled that on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said it has released the results of the first set of candidates who took the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Saturday, May 13. According to Daily Trust a total of 742,906 candidates took the examination on Saturday, 13th and Monday 15th May, 2017 while 401,292 candidates were expected to write the exam on Tuesday, May 16.
