Man Utd are not close to being at the standard of Real Madrid, according to Red Devils legend Paul Scholes.
Los Blancos defeated United 2-1 in Tuesday's Super Cup final, with goals from Casemiro and Isco proving to be the difference.
"There is a lot of work for every team in Europe to match that team," Scholes said on BT Sport.
"I thought for long periods of that game the passing and moving and just the way they moved the ball, the simplicity, the movement was sensational at times.
"United did well to dig in and stay in the game.
"(Marouane) Fellaini was a handful when he came on, (Marcus) Rashford was a handful.
"Towards the end Real Madrid did look like they were tiring a little bit but Manchester Unitedare a bit further down the line in preparation.
"There's a long way to get to that level."
