Both Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda and skipper Kennedy Mweene have expressed confidence the Chipolopolo can beat Nigeria in Uyo onOctober 7 to take World Cup qualification in Group B down to the final match of the series.
According to reports monitored by in Zambia, Nyirenda insisted that his lads can beat the eagles at their home, noting that since the Super Eagles could beat them at Ndola, nothing would stop them from paying them back in Uyo.
Nyirenda noted that the Chipolopolo has undergone a lot of transformation from the team that ;lost to Nigeria in July, leading to their double header win over Algeria to lift the Southern African team to second place, where they are now only three points behind group leaders Nigeria.
Zambia have been unbeaten in their last seven matches, which include CHAN and World Cup qualifiers, to show they are the team on form.
“Now we will focus on Nigeria. They are a good team and will desperately want a win. But I have a big team who can pick a win and that’s what I am planning for.
Also South Africa-based goalkeeper and captain of the team, Kennedy Mweene shared the optimism of his coach.
